Meet Esther Ledesma Pumarol. Esther, a Senior Design Engineer at Eaton Corporation in Moon Township, started volunteering with Auberle in 2015. The native of the Dominican Republic moved to the United States in 2013 and wished to quickly make an impact on something close to her heart—kids and families.
For the past several years, Esther and Eaton employees have participated in Days of Caring at Auberle’s Main Campus. These unique volunteer opportunities have companies tackle meaningful projects at Auberle while connecting with their employees and our young people. This past July, 25 Eaton employees and Esther spent their work day giving back to landscape the Auberle campus and in the afternoon spent time playing games with the Auberle youth on Program C.
“I’m extremely happy and honored to share these memories with this team, I know we had a great time outside and inside, and I want to give extra credit to the Auberle team for their attention and great support while hosting us on Friday,” Esther said in an e-mail conversation.
Esther looks forward to scheduling the annual Eaton Day of Caring for 2018 and is actively seeking other ways to get involved with Auberle as well. “I encourage others to consider volunteering at Auberle because it’s something that you are able to see the difference you are making,” Esther said. “Seeing what Auberle’s doing by opening its doors is definitely a big thing. When I learned about Auberle I knew that I was going to love it.”
