Interview with Kathleen Miclot

August 28, 2017

Kathleen Miclot has been on Auberle’s board director since 2005.  Kathleen is the Chairperson of the All Star Banquet Committee and also the Secretary/Treasurer on the Auberle Board. Kathleen is passionate about serving children and families in our community. We thank Kathleen for her many years of service and dedication.

Question: How did you first get involved with Auberle?

Answer: I helped one of my son’s friends and after that I realized there was probably a lot of kids that needed help like him. I searched for an organization to get involved with. Joe Blattner, who was on the board at Auberle said, “I know where you want to get involved”. So, I went on a tour of Auberle and I heard about the good work that Auberle does and decided this was exactly what I wanted to be a part of. So, the rest is history and that’s how I joined the board!

Question: What makes our organization’s mission powerful to you?

Answer: As a mother, I understand that children and families sometimes need help. I think the thing that makes me the most proud of Auberle is the positive outcomes the organization achieves.

Question: What does success at Auberle look like to you?

Answer: I think the biggest success at Auberle is that we are adaptable to the changes in our community. A great example is the 412 Youth Zone. The 412 Youth Zone is another way we create opportunities for success for the youth we serve.

Question: What have you learned about Auberle while serving on our board?

Answer: Throughout my 11 years on the Board, I have learned that the Auberle staff is very dedicated to the mission. I admire their dedication.

Question: What would you like to see happen in years to come at Auberle?

Answer: Moving forward, as an agency I would like to see us continue to adapt to the needs of the community and expand our footprints where needed.
